James Bertonis

President and CEO

A wireless industry pioneer with nearly thirty years of technology and executive management experience. A long time Silicon Valley entrepreneur, James was the founder and CEO of Advanced Radio Cells Inc. (ARCi) in 1999, which rapidly became the industry leader in wireless DOCSIS broadband technology. ARCi merged with CoWave Networks in 2003 to form Arcwave Inc., the current industry leader in the wireless cable extension market, where James served as CTO and a member of the Board until departing in 2005. He also served as CEO of ADBS Corp., specialists in RF/wireless communications, and was co-founder and CEO of Telecom Industries, a pioneer in the home satellite TV industry. He has performed wireless patent analyses, provided litigation support and testified as an expert in wireless technology. His writing has been published in international trade journals.

BSEE from Syracuse University and an MBA (Finance) from Santa Clara University.

T. Randy Nash

Vice President, Engineering

Previously worked at General Instrument and Motorola, where he was instrumental in the development of DOCSIS, which has become the standard in the broadband cable market. He also led product development efforts at American Satellite, GTE Space Systems, and Equatorial Communications.

BSEE and MSEE degrees from Syracuse University.

A.F. (Rick) Melzig

Director, Customer Systems

More than thirty-five years of RF communications experience to the Azure Communications team. Rick co-founded Advanced Radio Cells Inc. (ARCi.) and, most recently, served as Vice President, Customer Engineering for Arcwave Inc., leading field testing, field service and customer service activities. He has held senior engineering and project management positions at Network Equipment Technologies (NET), Cylink, and IBM. As managing partner for Broadcast Engineering, he designed and built radio broadcasting transmitters and microwave studio link systems.

Larry Campbell

Mechanical Engineering Director

Larry Campbell has an extensive mechanical design background working in the communications and network security industries. Past companies he has worked at include P-com, Arcwave, Net Optics, and Ixia.

Larry is a graduate of the Arizona Automotive Institute.
